Roof collapse at Terminal 1, Delhi Airport: Departures suspended

Today morning, a portion of the Terminal 1 roof collapsed at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport following rain. 1 person is confirmed to be dead as of now.
Departures at T1 suspended. Check in counters have been closed for safety measure.
Union Civil Aviation Minister, Ram Mohan Naidu, reached Terminal 1 to inspect the damage.
In a post on X, the Union Minister said, “Personally monitoring the roof collapse incident at T1 Delhi Airport. First responders are working at site. Also advised the airlines to assist all affected passengers at T1. The injured have been evacuated to hospital. Rescue operations are still ongoing.“
